Dekolonisering van sociaal werk

Migratie heeft de socio-culturele mix van de Europese grootsteden grondig veranderd en zo geleid tot etnisch diverse, multiculturele en kosmopolitische steden.
Hierbij is Brussel stilaan uitgegroeid tot een van de meest diverse steden ter wereld. Deze afspiegeling zien we ook terug op de schoolbanken van onze opleidingen sociaal werk (bachelor en graduaat) aan EhB en HoGent. De afspiegeling brengt diverse spanningsvelden met zich mee, gaande van de kwesties van representatie en diversiteit, over toegankelijkheid en inclusie, tot aan inhoudelijke curriculumhervorming (dekolonisering van curricula). Met dit alliantieproject willen we nadenken over hoe onze curricula (en haar didactische aanpak), het team en haar denkkaders beter af te stemmen op deze diverse realiteit om zo een meer inclusieve ruimte te worden.

Decolonization of social work

Migration has profoundly changed the socio-cultural mix of Europe's major cities, leading to ethnically diverse, multicultural and cosmopolitan cities.
In the process, Brussels has gradually become one of the most diverse cities in the world. This reflection is also reflected in our social work programs (bachelor and graduate) at EhB and HoGent. The reflection brings with it various fields of tension, ranging from the issues of representation and diversity, over accessibility and inclusion, to content-based curriculum reform (decolonization of curricula). With this alliance project, we want to reflect on how to better align our curricula (and its didactic approach), the team and its thinking frameworks with this diverse reality in order to become a more inclusive space.
