Diepgaande analytische precisie via hogedruk ionenchromatografie voor moderne uitdagingen binnen de AgroFoodNature keten

Het onderzoekscentrum AgroFoodNature (AFN) van HOGENT wenst een nieuw High Performance Ion Chromatography (HPIC) systeem uitgerust met een electrochemische detectie en een conductiviteitsdetectie aan te kopen. Naast de bepaling van eenvoudige en complexe koolhydraten wordt hiermee de analytische capaciteit aanzienlijk uitgebreid naar polyolen en suikeralcoholen, organische zuren en amines in complexe matrices uit de AgroFoodNature keten zoals bieren, gefermenteerde dranken, granen, peulvruchten, kuilvoeders, …. Deze nieuwe technologie brengt meerdere voordelen mee waaronder werken bij hogere druk (kortere analyse runs, verhoogde doorvoer) en de mogelijkheid om te werken met de nieuwste generatie Fast-kolommen (betere scheiding en reproduceerbaarheid). Een kwaliteitsonderzoek van deze complexe matrices opent deuren naar vervolgonderzoek en nieuwe samenwerkingen met bedrijven en onderzoeksinstellingen.

Deep analytical precision via high-pressure ion chromatography for modern challenges within the AgroFoodNature chain

HOGENT's AgroFoodNature (AFN) research center wishes to purchase a new High Performance Ion Chromatography (HPIC) system equipped with electrochemical detection and conductivity detection. In addition to the determination of simple and complex carbohydrates, this will significantly expand the analytical capacity to polyols and sugar alcohols, organic acids and amines in complex matrices from the AgroFoodNature chain such as beers, fermented beverages, cereals, legumes, silage, .... This new technology brings several advantages including working at higher pressures (shorter analysis runs, increased throughput) and the ability to work with the latest generation Fast columns (better separation and reproducibility). A quality study of these complex matrices opens doors to follow-up research and new collaborations with companies and research institutions.
