reWater4Farms - Biologisch zuiveren van afvalwater voor waterhergebruik in de kleinschalige landbouw in Ecuador

De kleinschalige landbouw in Ecuador lijdt onder watertekorten. Het optimaliseren van waterhergebruik biedt hierop een antwoord. We gebruiken biomassa om agrarisch afvalwater te zuiveren. Dat maakt enerzijds waterhergebruik mogelijk en anderzijds valorisatie van de biomassa als veevoeder of meststof. Hierdoor worden zowel de water- als de nutriëntencyclus zoveel als mogelijk gesloten. Daarenboven zetten we in op ‘capacity building’ educatie en sensibilisering om een maximale impact te creëren.

reWater4Farms - Biologically treating wastewater for water reuse in small-scale agriculture in Ecuador

Small-scale agriculture in Ecuador suffers from water shortages. Optimising water reuse provides an answer to this. We use biomass to purify agricultural wastewater. This enables both water reuse and valorisation of the biomass as animal feed or fertiliser. This closes both the water and nutrient cycles as much as possible. In addition, we focus on ‘capacity building’ education and awareness-raising to create maximum impact.
