In 2015, HOGENT, UGent and ULiège evaluated the tightened alcohol laws of 2009. In 2009, access to liquor was banned for all minors (up to age 18) and access to all alcohol for -16-year-olds. These include a ban on young people being in possession of alcohol, and a ban on vendors, bars and restaurants offering alcohol to young people. Belspo, the federal science policy, funded this study. The study was completed in 2017 and concluded in a summary report and 24 policy recommendations.
