Persoonlijke Beschermingsmiddelen - COmfortabel en Veilig op de werkVloer en in Drukke omgevingen

COVVID-PBM heeft tot doel informatie te verspreiden over materialen, processen en regelgeving m.b.t. het maken van mondmaskers en medische jassen opdat deze veilig én comfortabel zouden zijn en zodanig door werknemers en burgers langdurig kunnen gedragen worden. Het project wil handvatten aanreiken voor de productie van veilige, comfortabele mondmaskers en medische jassen.
Het richt zich enerzijds tot aankopers binnen de ziekenhuizen, woonzorgcentra, overheden, preventieadviseurs, en van daaruit werknemers en burgers; en anderzijds designers, producenten & confectioneurs van beschermingsmiddelen. Zo worden producenten geïnformeerd over comfort en pasvorm, de best geschikte materialen, processen en wetgeving. Decontaminatie en onderhoudsrichtlijnen worden opgesteld voor gebruikers, wasserijen, zorgcentra en ziekenhuizen.
Finaal zal Vlaanderen zo zelf kunnen voorzien in de nodige COVID-beschermingsmiddelen zodat burgers en werknemers zich veilig en comfortabel kunnen begeven in de maatschappij en op het werk. Dit zal zowel een economische als maatschappelijke impact hebben: betrokken populatie omvat alle ondernemingen, horeca, winkels, woonzorgcentra, ziekenhuizen, burgers. De geschatte investeringen per producent variëren van tientallen/honderden duizenden euro (machineaanpassingen) tot enkele miljoenen euro (nieuwe machines).

Personal Protective Equipment - COmfortable and Safe on the Workfloor and in Crowded Environments

COVVID-PBM aims to disseminate information on materials, processes and regulations regarding the production of mouth masks and medical gowns so that they are safe and comfortable and can be worn by workers and citizens for long periods of time. The project aims to provide tools for the production of safe, comfortable masks and medical gowns.
It is aimed at purchasers in hospitals, residential care centres, governments, prevention advisers, and from there employees and citizens; and at designers, manufacturers & makers of protective equipment. Thus, producers are informed about comfort and fit, the best suitable materials, processes and legislation. Decontamination and maintenance guidelines are drawn up for users, laundries, care centres and hospitals.
Ultimately, this will enable Flanders to provide the necessary COVID protective equipment itself so that citizens and employees can be safe and comfortable in society and at work. This will have both an economic and social impact: the population involved includes all companies, catering establishments, shops, residential care centres, hospitals and citizens. The estimated investments per producer range from tens/hundreds of thousands of euros (machine modifications) to several million euros (new machines).
