Multicultural Classrooms: Inclusive Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

De snelle veranderingen in de wereld hebben gevolgen voor de economie en het onderwijsstelsel. Dankzij uitwisselingsprogramma's zoals Erasmus en Mevlana (Turkije) neemt het aantal buitenlandse studenten in het hoger onderwijs snel toe. Daarnaast zijn overheidsbeurzen online onderwijscursussen die door universiteiten worden aangeboden en ook de toename van het aantal vluchtelingen en asielzoekers andere factoren die het aantal buitenlandse studenten van verschillende religies talen culturen en etniciteiten doen toenemen. Om met deze situatie om te gaan en effectief kwalitatief hoogstaand inclusief en multicultureel onderwijs te bieden zijn de belangrijkste actoren in de universiteiten de "docenten". In deze context wil het project de vaardigheden en competenties van het academisch personeel ontwikkelen om in een multiculturele en meertalige omgeving te kunnen werken. Om dit doel te bereiken wordt in het kader van het project: 1) Een innovatief curriculum en een methodologie voor bijscholing van docenten hoger onderwijs over het beheer van multiculturele klaslokalen ontwikkeld 2) innovatief lesmateriaal opgesteld om de multiculturele dimensie van het onderwijsproces te verbeteren 3) Met de kortlopende personeelsopleiding die zal worden uitgevoerd zullen de docenten worden aangemoedigd hun vaardigheden voor het beheer van multiculturele klaslokalen te ontwikkelen.

Multicultural Classrooms: Inclusive Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

Rapid changes in the world are affecting the economy and education system. Thanks to exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana (Turkey), the number of foreign students in higher education is increasing rapidly. In addition, government grants online education courses offered by universities and also the increase in the number of refugees and asylum seekers are other factors increasing the number of foreign students of different religions languages cultures and ethnicities. To deal with this situation and effectively provide quality inclusive and multicultural education, the most important actors in universities are the "teachers." In this context, the project aims to develop the skills and competencies of academic staff to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment. To achieve this goal, the project will: 1) Develop an innovative curriculum and methodology for in-service training of higher education teachers on the management of multicultural classrooms 2) Develop innovative teaching materials to improve the multicultural dimension of the teaching process 3) With the short-term staff training that will be implemented, teachers will be encouraged to develop their skills for managing multicultural classrooms.
